ARFT - Album Reviews From A Train

Earlier today I tweeted “ARFT.” It’s a new feature I’m trying out where I post ratings on the new albums I listen to on my commuter train. Strictly new albums and leaks, judged on a 1-10 scale. Then I’ll provide a brief explanation when I get home, depending on how busy I am. Hopefully this feature will last longer than my “TV Winner of The Week.” I should bring that back.

Anyway, the inaugural reviews were of Dave Matthews Band - Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King (8/10), and Lucky Boys Confusion - Closing Arguments (5/10). Both bands have been around for a while, but its only DMB’s that makes me want to come back for more. Poor production and depressing songs make up the Lucky Boys comeback. Its a stark contrast from their last album, the jubilant popathon Commitment. Dave “returns to form” as they say, with an imaginative ride that echoes their rich back catalog.

Coming soon…Taking Back Sunday, Parachute, Ben Folds acappella.
