This is really not good. While the style of the song fits in perfectly with Top 40, its the subject matter and lyrics that are troublesome. Similar to the current #1 movie in America, it has no social conscious, liberally throwing around dangerous stereotypes and offensive words, not to mention the misogynist hook. Normally such satire and humor might be okay, the song was made with the intentions of being funny, but packaging it in such a format (and this goes for Transformers as well) negates the punch. The “message” is falling on deaf ears who are not sophisticated enough to get the joke. Yes, shit like this has been going on for a long time in hip hop music, misogyny in particular, but never has the music been so deceptively wholesome.
