Bret, you got it going on.

I would have played piano and then [gotten] Jason Segel and Walter the Muppet up on stage. And then bring in a chorus of background singers with all the Muppets across the back of the stage. Maybe get Clooney and Pitt out there, as well, singing along.

On today’s Fresh Air, songwriter Bret McKenzie talks about writing the songs for the new Muppet movie: “They take it very seriously, and sometimes in the studio, they kind of ‘Method’ Muppets, where in between takes, they stay in character. So I’m in the studio, we do a take and then we’re like, ‘Can you do it again? Just a little more energy?’ and then they talk back to you as Fozzie the Bear. So it’s like I’m having a conversation with the Muppet in there. Pretty strange, very surreal job.”

This is going to be a good one.

In case you weren’t already going to see The Muppets, you should know that Bret McKenzie from Flight of the Conchords did the music (and you can tell).

Also, there’s a Toy Story short before the movie.

Finally saw The Muppets and can now watch/post stuff like this (didn’t want to avoid spoilers before).

"Flight of the Conchords" star Bret McKenzie will play Lindir, an Elf of Rivendell — "Flight of the Conchords" star Bret McKenzie has joined the cast of "The Hobbit," which began shooting March 21. McKenzie, who made brief appearances as an extra in the first and third "Lord of the Rings" pics, is playing Lindir, an Elf of Rivendell.

Figwit?

Figwit Lives!

According to The Playlist, Bret McKenzie – a member of New Zealand’s 4th most popular folk parody duo – will be acting as music supervisor for the film as well as penning some songs for it.

Pretty cool but I hope Jason Segel does some music for it as well.
