The “American Idol” star is now definitely confirming he’ll be fronting the classic rock band — with original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor — during their headlining performance at the Sonisphere Festival in England on July 7.

Joining headliners like Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Coldplay at the concert, which is being held for the first time in the United States at Radio City Music Hall on March 4, are the “S.N.L.” performers Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Seth Meyers; also on board are Aziz Ansari and Aubrey Plaza from “Parks and Recreation.” But wait, there’s more: Maya Rudolph (an “S.N.L.” alumna), Bob Odenkirk, Hannibal Buress and Sarah Silverman (who all have “S.N.L.” roots, too), Paul Rudd (a “Parks and Rec” guest star) as well as David Cross and the disgruntled Muppet commentators Statler & Waldorf have also been added to the bill. Representing the other side of the Atlantic are the British comics John Oliver (of “The Daily Show”), Chris O’Dowd (“Bridesmaids”), Peter Serafinowicz, David Walliams, Noel Fielding, Matt Berry, Micky Flanagan and Jack Whitehall.
The New York Post reports that Jackman’s concert evening will begin an eight-week run at the Broadhurst Theatre Oct. 25. The New York daily says the production delay on the upcoming “Wolverine” film has enabled Jackman to return to Broadway this fall.
