Here is Golden Globe award winner Don Cheadle arriving for our table read this morning.

When I hosted the wonderful TV program Attack of the Show a few weeks ago live on G4, we pulled off something that had never before been accomplished on any of the over 1,000 episodes of the show. We wrote and performed a thirteen minute and forty one second monologue. It features three stories, an immense amount of crazy and a cameo from Josh Lawson (House of Lies, Australia) as a representative from Estonia. It is only up on YouTube for a limited time, so if you have 13:41 check it out soon. A huge thank you to all the writers and staff on the show for letting me make ludicrous jokes for so long. If this isn’t an argument for Schwartz to have his own show, I don’t know what is.
The time I interviewed Kristen Bell. Published it today because: 1. Her show comes out Sunday. 2. As a birthday present to myself. Of course we talked about her campaign to be in “The Hunger Games” and the “Veronica Mars” movie. Below is a rather hilarious portion to give you the sense of just how charming she really is:
Did you have to do anything that made you uncomfortable? In one episode, a guy sucks on your character’s foot. Did you have a foot double?
Oh, no, no. That wasn’t uncomfortable at all! [Laughs] Having an actor I just met put my foot in his mouth? No, I did not have a foot double. I’m not really into doubles for stunts or anything else, but it was as awkward as it seems to be. You know, I had just met another actor who, as per the crazy script written, needed to put my foot in his mouth. We talked about it and I washed my foot and he had a mint — just for shits and giggles — and we just kind of went for it. We didn’t practice it at all, obviously, because: No. 1) Why would you? That’s weird. No. 2) We wanted it to be realistically awkward when we did it.

On Thursday, Showtime ordered 12 episodes of ‘House of Lies,’ a half-hour comedy starring Don Cheadle as a “self-loathing,” cutthroat management consultant and Bell as one of Cheadle’s razor-sharp employees.
‘House of Lies’ was created by Matthew Carnahan (‘Dirt’), and it’s based on a tell-all book by Martin Kihn titled ‘House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time.’ Ben Schwartz (‘Parks and Recreation,’ ‘Undercovers’), Josh Lawson, Dawn Oliveri, Glynn Turman (a favorite from ‘In Treatment’) and Donis Leonard, Jr., round out the cast.
The network also ordered the hourlong psychological thriller ‘Homeland,’ which stars Claire Daines as a CIA officer “battling her own demons” and Damian Lewis as a soldier who may be connected to an Al Quaeda plot.
Deadline reports that Bell has been cast in a lead role in the darkly comedic pilot, which stars Don Cheadle as a cutthroat management consultant who will go to any lengths to please his clients. Bell (“Veronica Mars,” “When in Rome”) will play a character named Jeannie Van Der Hooven, an Ivy League grad who works for the firm Cheadle’s character heads.
The “House of Lies” cast also includes Dawn Olivieri (“Heroes”) as Cheadle’s ex-wife and professional rival, Josh Lawson (“Romantically Challenged”), Ben Schwartz(“Undercovers”) as employees of Cheadle’s firm and Glynn Turman (“In Treatment”) as Cheadle’s father. Matthew Carnahan (“Dirt”) wrote the script, and Stephen Hopkins(“24,” “Californication”) will direct it.
