Featuring Raging Bull, BASEketball, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Contact, Kick Ass, The Wizard, and Wet Hot American Summer.
Kick Ass is out on DVD/Blu-ray/Digital Download/On Demand today. Some of the most fun I’ve had at the theater this year. Worth checking out if you haven’t seen it or checking out again if you have.
It’s common knowledge that on Saturday, Jim Carrey came on stage at Conan’s show dressed as Superman, but did you know on Sunday he did it dressed as KICK-ASS?! Yeah.
Zach asks parents about Kick Ass' controversial Hit Girl for PopEater. Interesting stuff! Glad to see that not everyone is as uptight as Ebert about the whole thing. I'm of the view point that no parent should bring their child to see this movie but that shouldn't stop them from seeing it themselves. Also, that french guy would.
That’s right I just got crazy political on your…umm..ass.
Sure did. Completely lived up to the hype. Kick Ass is a fast paced, ultra violent, down right fun thrill ride. And though it’s a cliche to say “there’s not a dull moment” there really isn’t. The film is not only the best comic book/super hero picture to come out since The Dark Knight, it’s also the most imaginative. Aside from some blatant similarities to Kill Bill Vol 1, there really isn’t anything else out there like it. And viewers who are plugged in will appreciate the uncompromising devotion to the niche - the thing is stuffed with geek culture references and jokes.
Nothing’s perfect though so if you’re a stickler like me, you may feel hung up on slight inconsistencies and sometimes painful dialogue. But the cast and surprising, original plot structure make up for this and more. Chloe Moretz is about to blow up and while I’m not sure if it’s her or her intoxicating character, Hit Girl, her presence is undeniable. Nic Cage hams it up, Clark Duke brings the wit. And word of mouth is going to travel faster than a speeding bullet.
The pre-sale ticket I bought for tonight’s screening says “Kick-A**” How lame. I’ll take a picture for all you folks later.
Also, did I mention I’m seeing Kick-Ass tonight? In two hours no less.
Oh Warner Bros, you so sneaky.
Mika’s new video/song “Kick Ass” for that film that’s coming out by the same name. It’s a catchy song, but will its 80s vibe hold up against the movie? Not so sure about that.
I thought Kick Ass is a fusion of Kill Bill and Ferris Bueller? Which is the real fusion!? Regardless, I like that combo and both look good (and fusiony.)
I like the splatter effect, but is anyone else having Watchmen flashbacks?
“Kick-Ass” Full Length Trailer
Not ever really following the graphic novel this is based on, I can say I’ve been really impressed by every clip that has come out for this film. It’s easily sliding up my most anticipated list for this year with every new video and this full trailer is no different. Watch this now. The movie hits theaters this April.
Oh so there is a plot.
Movie Trailer of the Day, Too: First official teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr.’s comic book series, Kick-Ass.
