'The Walking Down'/'Party Dead'
While appearing on this week’s episode of Comedy Bang Bang, Mullally let slip a bit of information about the much-rumored ‘Party Down’ film. She stressed that nothing is official but they’re hoping for “next hiatus [spring or summer]” for production.
She went on to say that this hinges on them finishing the script and having it approved as well. More significantly though, after host Scott Aukerman followed up, Mullally said that she thinks the film is financed, “pending script approval.”
The ‘Children’s Hospital’ actor also went as far as to say that there would be, “some sort of mayhem” if the film doesn’t happen, as the cast is that enthusiastic about making it.
Parks and Recreation hasn’t even aired yet and I already love this episode so much.
On the most recent episode of Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast, the two briefly discussed the status of the would-be Party Down movie. Up until this point most have been skeptical, but Scott revealed to Maron that a production company is interested in doing a “low budget” version and that all they need is Starz to sign off on it. The Parks and Rec star also stated that the season two cast would be featured and was not sure about Jane Lynch’s involvement.

Are we having fun yet?
I didn’t have a TV themed costume, but this is fun. Send AolTV your pictures.
This is much better than the AD, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock version.
Here’s his quote to The Playlist…
We’re like 90% there, we’re hoping to do it maybe next summer, if everyone’s schedules work out and the guys get time to write a script… They have kind of a skeleton of a story worked out so we know where it’s going to go but we just have to kind of cross the t’s and dot the i’s, or something. But Starz are being super cool and they’re going to let us do it, and we’re all excited, we all want to do it.
I’m breaking my own Arrested Development/Party Down rule of not posting about it until it’s official, but this seems promising.
Bless Rob Corddry and company for doing this. Also remember that both Ken Marino and Megan Mullally exist this world as different characters.
Reminder: Party Down reunion on Children’s Hospital tonight
GUYS! This is information that may be relevant to your life and if it isn’t then I kind of feel a little sorry for you. (You should probably also stick around after for a new episode of NTSF:SD:SUV. Kate Mulgrew in an eye patch, y’all.)
