Surprise! Despite a promising lead single in “Home,” Phillips’ next sounds like the same generic pop that every White Guy With a Guitar ‘Idol’ winner has put out prior to him.

And he managed to win and not show his condition too bad.  Impressive. 

So what if Phillip Phillips is basically aping Dave Matthews in every possibly way. He took it and that dumb name of his all the way to the (almost) end of American Idol. 

The only problem is nobody knows who Lee Dewyze is anymore.
