The latest episode of Revolution teased viewers with a map of what the old United States (and some of Canada) looks like 15 years after the blackout. Here’s a high-res image of that map, exclusively on EW.com — and you can see an even bigger version here.

‘Revolution’ opened to 11.7 million and a 4.1 in the demo (dropping to 3.8 in second half hour), making it not only the biggest broadcast drama debut in three years but NBC’s biggest in five. ‘Mob Doctor’ meanwhile only managed 5.1 million and a 1.5.
Review: ‘Revolution‘
In the Daily Dot write up, I joked that NBC’s new genre drama ‘Revolution’ will likely be bad - judging mostly by the way these epic genre shows have gone recently. Good news, based on the pilot it’s not. In fact, it’s a fairly decent pilot. Whether the series will be good, is a different story.
‘Revolution’s premiere episode is laid out incredibly well. The cold open is the best you can hope for on a giant, mythology-driven series such as this, marked by its eye-popping, catastrophic visuals. The remainder of the episode follows through with a number of twists that play out as they were intended. There are some decent surprises both in character and plotting that if you can go unspoiled will no doubt enhance the viewing experience. Genre fans should be pleased by the multitude of surprisingly violent* action scenes (*for NBC). Giancarlo Esposito is the lone stand out in the acting department, with lead Tracy Spiridakos giving barely enough.
It seems as if they’re going for a cable aesthetic, and the pilot rides nicely alongside ‘Falling Skies’ and ‘The Walking Dead.’ But therein may be its downfall. The action is so present in the pilot it’ll be a feat if they’re able to keep it up for 22 weeks. The aforementioned cable shows can barely do it in 13. While there is many a sword fight and bow shooting in ‘Revolution’ episode one, I can easily seeing this becoming a talky, meandering, we’re-going-to-walk-through-the-forest-this-entire-episode type show. And unfortunately, right now, the characters just aren’t developed enough for that to be remotely interesting. ‘Revolution’ is great in episode one, but we’ll see what it’s like in episode 16.
