NBC is replacing The Playboy Club with its new news magazine program, Rock Center.

Regarding “Rock Center,” the newsmagazine will be NBC News’ first new primetime broadcast series to launch in nearly 20 years. In addition to Williams, the series will feature reporting from Harry Smith and Kate Snow, as well as Meredith Vieira, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, Richard Engel, Matt Lauer and Ann Curry.

Probably the farthest thing from Playboy bunnies.

This is my preliminary panel schedule for New York Comic Con (with some still undecided overlap).

The Locke & Key pilot screening was a pleasant surprise, as was the Attack The Block panel. 

The 10/16 premiere will be 90 minutes, with 5 more regular length episodes running through the fall. The show will then go on hiatus and present the back 6 episodes starting February.

Here’s a quick round up of the spring television premieres & my unnecessary thoughts:

Nurse Jackie, returns March 28 at 10 p.m. (Showtime)

• I’m hoping this season will be like A&E’s Intervention, plus more cat lady talk from Zoey please.

United States of Tara, returns March 28 at 10:30 p.m. (Showtime)

• Tara goes to college…I hope it’s not like that season of 90210 everyone wants to forget.

Body of Proof, launches March 29 at 10 p.m. (ABC)

• This is some Dana Delaney medical examiner show, I’m sure it’s no Crossing Jordan, though.

Camelot, Launches April 1 at 10 p.m. (Starz)

• Wizards & shit.

The Borgias, Launches April 3 at 9 p.m. with a special two-hour premiere (Showtime)

• Old-school crime family drama, like The Sopranos, but Renaissance era with Jeremy Irons instead of James Gandolfini.

The Killing, Launches April 3 at 9 p.m. with a special two-hour premiere (AMC)

• Twin peaks-lite. Who killed Laura Palmer, but not really?  Ok, I’m still watching the shit out of this though.

Top Chef Masters, Returns April 6 at 11 p.m. before moving into its regular timeslot at 10 p.m. on April 13 (BRAVO)

• Curtis Stone is hosting now instead of Kelly Choi, that’s one step up from having Guy Fieri host…so, you know, a plus?

Friday Night Lights, Returns April 15 at 8 p.m. (NBC)

• The fifth & final season.  Will Coach Eric Taylor ever get the team to the State Championships?  

Game of Thrones, Launches on April 17 at 9 p.m. (HBO)

• Everyone is calling it epic.  I don’t really use that word.

Treme, Returns April 24 at 10 p.m. (HBO)

• Anthony Bourdain is writing some of this season so that should be interesting.
