'Community' season 6 has a tentative premiere date of January 27th

Not sure if this has been reported anywhere yet, but Dan Harmon told Chris Hardwick on the Nerdist Podcast this week that season 6 of his show may be debuting on Yahoo at the end of January — specifically the 27th.

Harmon went on to say that he’s heard that date be “bandied about,” but there’s no reason to think it won’t change. So, super tentative right now, but still noteworthy that he shared an actual date.

The ‘Community’ creator also shared that he doesn’t see the show changing all that much on Yahoo, and that it won’t suddenly be R-rated. This comes on the heels of TV Guide revealing that Yvette Nicole Brown won’t be returning to the show when it jumps to the web.

The final season is its own story in its own location. The final season is not New York-centric at all. It really is a lovely, fitting season that dwells on the original people on the show and what happens to them and how they give back. That really is the last season. We’ll revisit some of the new kids that came and went, there’s a return of the [Sue] and [Will] in a big way. It’s a really interesting, very sweet, satisfying ending to the story.

Murphy also said there will be a time jump and that all of the original cast members are invited to return. The show will also feature the newer characters at some point to explain what happened to them.

“Never say never, but… there’s two very clear arcs to get to that end and conclude [the series],” Reilly told reporters when asked about an end date for Gleeat the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. “If we discover a new crop of kids and there’s some breakout, who knows. But right now, we’re thinking about two seasons.”

We’re nearing the end of the show’s run with these DVD releases which can only mean two things: growing melodrama and increased absurdist humor. It’s unbelievable to think that only a few years ago you couldn’t get any DVD past season 3 and that they were costing in the thousands of dollars.

I missed the release of season six in July, but it’s never too late to pick it up. Amazon has it for $21.48, 28% off the $29.98 list price.

Season 7, the final season, is available for preorder for $21.99 and will see release October 4th. Hopefully after that they’ll do a complete box set.
