The Global Citizen Festival will again descend on the Great Lawn in Central Park, on Sept. 27, aiming to raise awareness and inspire action on the issue of extreme poverty worldwide. This year’s lineup will feature Jay Z, Carrie Underwood, No Doubt, Fun, Tiësto and the Roots.

Oh, my god. Yeah. This is - I’m going to - we’re going to write a new theme and I’m thinking about it every second. Even now as I talk to you I’m thinking of that theme. Like, like I - we will be the first thing that is heard when the world is watching that new “Tonight Show.”
Questlove on Fresh Air when asked if he has to write a new ‘Tonight Show’ theme | NPR

Hell to the yes.

In an interview with Fuse (via NahRight), Roots drummer/leader ?uestlove first skirts around the topic, explaining that: “‘The Tonight Show’ is coming to us; we’re not going to ‘The Tonight Show’… it’s going to be the same show. But that’s a year from now,” before admitting that: “Yeah, we’re staying [with Jimmy].”

This makes it seem like the entire staff will remain intact as well. Which would also be great news.

Black Simon & Garfunkel Perform “Thrift Shop” on Fallon
