Couples Retreat 2? Not quite, but the gags sure are reminiscent. I was hoping there would be a bit more drama to this dramedy, seeing as the jokes seem tired and overstated. But Vaughn gets to be Vaughn and the rest of the cast is promising, I guess it’ll come down to the script. I’m on board, for now.
4 couples go on a tropical retreat to fix their relationships. Hijinx ensue. Starring Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell, and others. While the trailer isn’t outright hilarious, the movie may have some great comedy stored away. Based on casting alone. Ken Jeon is also featured.
Kristen Bell must only take scripts that bring her to island locations. Certain scenes, locales, and incidents seem ripped verbatim from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Also, this film came out of an original idea by Vaughn. Which begs the question, four years after Wedding Crashers is Vince Vaughn still relevant? I don’t think he’s the comedy superstar so many pegged him to be.
