Newhouse TRF Student Planning Terrible Student Film
Adam Hamford, a junior television, radio, and film student in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, has nearly finished the planning process for the terrible student film he hopes to begin filming next week.
“I finished the script and casting today. My best friends, all of whom have never acted before, and this one kid who seemed pretty talented in my production class last year will attempt to give life to a script that has no definable story and little relatable, or believable, dialogue,” Hamford said. “I’m excited to get started on this piece of shit.”
Hamford’s film will tell the story of one student’s experience at a Frat party, which he says enormously trivializes the actual experiences of most college students.
“Man, all the scenes taking place during the party are going to be so dark that you can’t see anything because I have no knowledge of lighting a film. Then, I’ll use some catchy filmmaking techniques like a poorly edited montage and a totally unnecessary voice-over,” Hamford said.
“I can’t wait to show this abhorrent attempt at filmmaking to my friends and family so they can awkwardly tell me they think it’s good,” He added.
No one from Hamford’s video production class is excited to see the early versions of the film.

Ladies and gentlemen, quadruple Emmy nominee Louis C.K.
Maron announced on his podcast this week that he recently wrote, produced, and starred in a scripted TV pilot based on his popular WTF Podcast.
Sounds to me like he got the ever elusive “Louis-CK-deal.”
The filming went down last week at his home and around his neighborhood. Television comedy icon Ed Asner plays Maron’s father; rising comedic voices like W. Kamau Bell and Sean Patton co-star– not to mention Seth Morris, Matt Jones, Erin Daniels and Trimbur.
The script was written by Maron and Duncan Birmingham.
The studio in charge is Fox TV Studios and Apostle (headed by comedian Denis Leary and Jim Serpico) is the production company, and the show is executive produced by Olivia Wingate and Serpico.
The show was shot as a presentation. It’ll likely be at least a month before we know if the show will proceed to the next step.
