Trailer: The Campaign - Aug 10

Directed by Jay Roach, written by Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell, starring Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Jason Sudeikis, John Lithgow, Dan Aykroyd, and Dylan McDermott.

Warner Brothers is very clever in releasing this film in August, right smack in the middle of election season. You can’t ask for better satiric timing. And as far as political spoof movies go this looks a whole lot better than Man of the Year. The trailer seems funny if a bit strained, the two gags at the end in particular. The cross bow gag having the poor fortune of invoking an identical misfire in The Five Year Engagement. Regardless, Ferrell and Galifianakis are a buffoonery dream team and though this isn’t from the creative minds of McKay and Ferrell we can hope it ends up more like Step Brothers and less like Land of the Lost.

So! Here is the trailer for a web series I’ll be hosting, where I chat with cool people over actual alcoholic drinks. We’ve shot a dozen of these so far and I am grateful to have been asked to host them.  I got to have interesting conversations with strangers and friends alike.

It goes live on Monday 5/7!

The show is called “Speakeasy.”

Now when is “A Drink With Dave” coming back?

'Between Two Ferns' Makes the Jump to TV, on Comedy Central May 6th With Tina Fey and Jon Stewart

As announced on Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang Bang podcast, Comedy Central (and presumably FunnyorDie) are getting all Barbara Walters on your ass and bringing you a brand new Between Two Ferns interview special before The Comedy Awards.

The series makes its jump to television with a half hour special titled ‘Between Two Ferns: A Fairytale of New York’, and will feature host Zach Galifianakis interviewing Tina Fey. Jon Stewart, and Sir Richard Branson. (My guess is that last one is someone in character. Will Ferrell maybe? Or Bill Hader?) This will also be Scott Aukerman’s TV directing debut, so congrats to him.

Look for that May 6th at 8:30 pm before The Comedy Awards.
