Broadway’s about to get a whole lot more quirky.
Who’s that boy? (Who’s that boy?) It’s Ryan Kwanten! Of course, that’s no surprise to fans of New Girl that the True Blood star is stopping by the show, as it was announced last month that the Aussie actor would be making a guest appearance. Kwanten will play a handsome fellow (naturally) named Oliver that Zooey Deschanel‘s Jess wants to have a one-night stand with, despite the fact that they have nothing in common. (Power through it, Jess!)
Rocky Horror opening numbers, shoving Neil Gaiman’s vegetarian haggis inside a TARDIS, Amanda Palmer and her husband performing another Rocky Horror number with Moby and Stephin Merritt of the Magnetic Fields, and Zooey Deschanel makes Craig Ferguson’s Halloween Special last night just right.
UnrealityMag thinks The New Girl would be better with dinosaurs, because of this photoshop, I agree wholeheartedly.
You’ll watch it! Fuck you!
It’s an adorkable hit. Fox’s Zooey D lead comedy hit 10.1 million viewers with a 4.7 demo rating, a vast improvement over Raising Hope last year. Even more impressive is it built upon Glee’s lead in (rather than falling off like most shows do). Ryan Murphy’s tuner only notched 8.7 million viewers and a 3.8 rating.
CBS took the night in total viewers (obviously) with their procedurals. NCIS saw 19.5 million and a 4.2, NCIS: LA followed with 16.7 mil and a 3.6 while new drama Unforgettable earned 14 million and a 2.9.
After all my skepticism about them releasing the New Girl pilot online weeks in advance, the strategy seems to have worked and not cannibalized the premiere at all.
Fox’s full ‘New Girl’ pilot is on demand (at least with Time Warner Cable in NYC). I suggest you watch it.
