Remember “The Secret World of Alex Mack”? If you’re a child of the 1990s, like me, of course you do.
Here’s something that will rock your world: Alex Mack still wears the hats.
“Um, do you know that I still have so many of those hats? And I wear them,” series star Larisa Oleynik told me during a recent phone interview. (She referred to the hat at left as the “condom cap.”)
I caught up with some of the cast and the show’s co-creator to discuss what life was like being on one of Nickelodeon’s top show, whether they’d do a reunion/remake a la “Girl Meets World” and got to the bottom of a cliffhanger that has plagued me since 1998: Did Alex Mack take the cure for her powers?

**Yes, this is the story I teased days ago**
Chris did a serious oral-history-esque retrospective on ‘Alex Mack’ that you should probably read.
Larisa Oleynik is joining the cast of the freshman drama Hawaii Five-0, TVLine has learned exclusively.
On CBS’s reboot of the classic cop show, Oleynik will play Jessica Kaye, an ex-CIA analyst and Harvard graduate with a degree in Political Science and a Masters in Global Security and Intelligence Studies who is fresh off the plane from Langley, Virginia.
Her purpose in Hawaii? To assist Five-0 in the pursuit of Steve McGarrett’s arch nemesis, Wo Fat (Iron Chef America‘s Mark Dacascos). Jessica has a personal stake in the manhunt since Wo Fat was responsible for the murder of her fiancé, a well respected CIA field agent.
Oleynik’s role is recurring for the remainder of this season, with an option to become a series regular come Season 2. A onetime recurring player on NBC’s 3rd Rock from the Sun, she most recently guest-starred on AMC’s Mad Men as Ken Cosgrove’s fiancée.
Whether the character will have the ability to morph into liquid is currently undetermined.
