Amazon.com Inc. plans a free, advertising-supported streaming television and music-video service, a departure from its strategy of offering video only to members of its $99-a-year Prime service, according to people familiar with the matter.

According to the Post, Hulu is considering adding cable authentication to their service. Meaning, in order to watch you’ll need to log in with your cable or satellite provider.
This will no doubt make cutting the cord difficult but should also increase piracy. Good job TV industry.

For MasterChef the upturn was even higher with 189% more downloads from the U.S. For MasterChef; the extra high demand may in part have been facilitated by the fact that it was the season finale.
