An Austrian website quoted Segel, who plays Marshall Eriksen on the comedy, as saying he enjoys getting to do R-rated stuff again “because I’ve been playing the nice guy for quite a long time now. That’s why I’m gonna quitHow I Met Your Motherafter the eighth season.”
“Perhaps something got lost in translation, but Season 9 hasn’t even been addressed yet,” a rep for Segel said in a statement obtained by TVGuide.com.
I say good for him. Maybe without core cast members they’ll end it at season 8, but I doubt it.
