New Full Trailer: ‘This Is 40’ | Yahoo
While I think this trailer is so much better than the teaser, the end gag is a recreation of the ‘shrooming scene in ‘Knocked Up’ and it was very daring of them to put “This is everyone’s story” in there. Basically, it’s setting itself up for a lot.
First Image From Judd Apatow’s ‘Knocked-Up’ spin-off, ‘This Is Forty’
The LA Times has posted the first image from Judd Apatow’s ‘Knocked-Up’ spin-off, ‘This Is Forty’. According to The LA TImes ’This Is Forty’ “picks up with the family a few years after “Knocked Up.” Pete’s music label is struggling and Debbie’s vanity business, a dress shop staffed by the comely Desi (Megan Fox) and the awkward Jodi (Charlyne Yi), needs to help cover the household budget.” Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow’s real-life daughters, Maude and Iris Apatow, will be reprising their roles from ‘Knocked Up’ as well.
‘This Is Forty’ Opens December 21st, 2012 ( Just in time for the end of the world).
I used to be a die hard Judd Apatow fan and ‘Funny People’ pretty much killed that. If Apatow is going back to characters from his previous films, Pete and Debbie from ‘Knocked-Up’ are the most logical characters to see more from. They were easily the best thing in ‘Knocked-Up’, and Judd’s strengths as a storyteller come from his views on marriage. Hopefully Judd Apatow has learned to edit down his movies to a solid two hours runtime. ‘Funny People’ being close to three hours long was almost unbearable, and showed he still wasn’t confident in editing down his films. My other worry is that I do love me some Leslie Mann, but ‘Funny People’ and ‘The Change-Up’ were great examples of quality vs. quantity. She’s great in moderation, but with her being Judd Apatow’s wife, he might not be aware of that when it comes to the viewer. Either way, I’m curious to see if ‘Funny People’ was just a bad egg or if Judd Apatow still has it.
Mumolo co-wrote, produced and briefly appeared in Bridesmaids, which has grossed about $208 million worldwide. She recently closed a blind script deal with ABC Studios and, with Bridesmaids costar McCarthy, recently sold a feature comedy pitch to Paramount with Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn attached to produce.
Smigel co-wrote You Don’t Mess with the Zohan with Apatow and Adam Sandler. He is also the creator of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog and SNL’s cartoon segments including The Ambiguously Gay Duo.

THR sat down for an interview with an out-of-character Paul Reubens. They asked him about the upcoming Apatow movie.
THR: What has Judd Apatow brought to the Pee-wee party, creatively speaking? And when is the script done and the film out already?
Paul Reubens: Paul Rust and I just turned in a draft to Judd last week. He’s bringing such an interesting side to it. He’s constantly having us talk about and address the emotional core of Pee-wee Herman. It’s adding a dimension I never had before. Judd, if you’re reading this, I think it’s ready to green light!
