HitFix’s First Annual TV Critics’ Poll
HitFix took the Top 10 lists from most major TV critics and compiled them by show and by critic. It’s fun to click around and see what got love and from whom.
It’s back! The 4th Annual PCB Summer Movie List!
With the release of The Avengers next weekend we’re officially entering summer blockbuster season. Keeping with tradition of the past three years, below are all of the summer movies I’m interested in seeing (subject to change based on buzz and reception). As this list is longer than it’s been in the past, chances are I won’t manage to see all of them.
I do this mostly as a reference for myself, and like usual I’ll be crossing off the ones I’ve seen and linking to any reviews I write. Look for sporadic reblogs of this post throughout the summer to check in on my progress.
- The Avengers - May 4

As August winds down, another summer blockbuster season has come and gone. I faired out pretty well this year, maybe better than others in wish-to-see::actually-saw ratio. My apologies for not writing more reviews as the summer went on.

How many have you seen?
Nick Kroll provides 20 helpful tips for using the Internet.
Note: Kroll gets a pass for being a funny, professional comedian. Otherwise this type of list would be obnoxious, holier-than-thou “social media expert” bullshit.
Hey look there’s my alma mater film department at 15! Right behind The Polish National Film, Television and Theater School.
EW ranks what it believes are the funniest musicals of all time and their choice for number one may surprise you.
If it were up to me switch number 2 and number 1, throw in some Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson or Title of Show, and sub in The Full Monty for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
And when I say full I mean full. Due to the sheer magnitude of nominations there’s always much to analyze when it comes to the Emmys. Overall I’m pretty content with the nominees, save for a few snubs. You know we’re living in a television golden age when shows like Shameless, Treme, Community, and Fringe barely get recognized.
Dream On: The Top Ten Music Videos That Take Place In Dreams | VH1I know that the VH1 Blog probably is not a regular destination for many of you, but I swearzies that we’ve been doing some really great work over there of late. Besides, when was the last time you watched the “Land Of Confusion” video?
Solid list over at Flavorwire that highlights some of the best movies that take place over the course of one day. It includes Do The Right Thing, Dog Day Afternoon, Ferris Bueller, Clerks amongst others.
Before you go shouting what they missed, know that they disqualified anything that flashed back outside of the film’s modern time frame (so no Reservoir Dogs or 25th Hour) and space didn’t allow for some key examples like Breakfast Club and Die Hard.
What’s your favorite 24 hour movie?
