David Bianculli explains why the new four-part documentary series called America in Primetime, which premieres this Sunday on PBS, is “the smartest TV show about television I’ve seen in about 20 years.”
Glee’s Mark Salling and Amber Riley will be performing in the company of President Obama for the second time in the past year, taking part in a PBS music special titled, The Motown Sound: In Performance at the White House.
The President and First Lady are teaming with the basic cable network to host the event in honor of Black History Month and the legendary Motown, which will include performances by both Glee stars, Jamie Foxx, Natasha Bedingfield, Sheryl Crow, Gloriana, Nick Jonas, Ledisi, John Legend, Smokey Robinson, Seal and Jordin Sparks.
The Motown Sound takes place Thursday, February 24 in Washington D.C., with the hour-long special set to premiere Tuesday, March 1 at 8/7c on PBS.
EW has learned exclusively that PBS will air the American premiere of Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at The O2 on March 6. DVR alert: PBS airs ‘Jeff Bridges: The Dude Abides’ Wed at 8 pm | Pop Candy
In the above clip Bridges visits The Little Lebowski, a store devoted to the film.
On the heels of Guy Ritchie’s latest Holmes take, PBS announces it will modernize and serialize the pivotal detective.
“Sherlock” will present a 21st century spin on the classic detective stories and stars Benedict Cumberbatch (“Atonement,”) Holmes and Martin Freeman (“The Office UK,” “Hot Fuzz” as Dr. Watson.
Smart casting and clever risk in updating, I will definitely be there to watch the series debut on PBS.

Just FYI, kids, Passing Strange is on tomorrow night PBS at 9pm! This was one of my favorite shows of the ‘07-‘08 season. Check your local listings!
Looking forward to watching this tomorrow night.
