Earwolf is launching a brand-new LIVE VIDEO PODCASTING night, with a bunch of our shows (including Comedy Bang! Bang!), and I made a video to talk about it! THIS JUST WENT VIRAL.
WEEKEND LISTENING PART 1
I was delighted to participate in this messy, goofy nonsense. At least one of many, many visual jokes can be explained here in this post.

Does a full episode of the new Comedy Bang Bang IFC television show interest you?
This is the show’s second episode. CBB premieres June 8th.
How awesome is a 2 story Scott and Reggie head?
“@reggiewatts and @scottaukerman on the corner of 7th Ave and West 30th, #NYC. Word to the big bang.”
If you haven’t seen the special sneak peak of the Comedy Bang! Bang! TV show on IFC, here it is! It stars Hot Saucerman, of course, and Reggie Watts with guest appearances by Adam Scott and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber (Paul F. Thompkins with his cape!). I may be biased but I thought it looked amazing. Scott and crew did an awesome job. Heads up for Dr. Reginald Watts. Awesome!
EEE! Get excited!!
I work on this show and I hope that you like it :)
That’s next week!
Around a year ago, a few friends and I watched all four Rambo movies in one day. We got to talking about how much fun it would be if John Rambo were to meet Rocky Balboa. So we wrote a movie about it.
We wrote the outline on one page of paper (in gold ink), split it up into six sections, and each wrote around 15-20 pages, without looking at each others’ work. I got the last section, and it was also my job to clean the script up, join the sections together, and try to get it to make sense.
Then we had a reading of it to hear what the others came up with. And then we never did anything else with it.
So here it is. Enjoy!
Paul Rust (actor, “I Love You Beth Cooper;” currently co-writing the new Pee-Wee Herman movie)
Kulap Vilaysack (co-host, “Who Charted?” podcast)
Michael Cassady (actor, “The Office,” “Freakdance”)
Harris Wittels (writer, “Parks and Recreation,” “The Sarah Silverman Program,” “Eastbound & Down”)
Neil Campbell (UCB Theatre LA Artistic Director; writer, “Mike Detective”)
Scott Aukerman (host, “Comedy Bang Bang;” writer, “Mr. Show;” co-creator, “Between Two Ferns”)
Click on the TITLE of the article to be taken to the script!
From Reggie Watts’ Tumblr. Looks like he’s on the set of something with Adam Scott, Paul F Tompkins, and Scott Aukerman. Could it be the Comedy Bang Bang pilot?
Also PFT’s cape = Dame Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber?
Jesse Fox talked to comedy podcast mavens Scott Aukerman and Jeff Ullrich about their podcasting network Earwolf and the current state of comedy podcasts. Here’s Scott Aukerman:
When I first started, I had a different conception of what the show would be. I thought it was going to be more of a talk show. Really, my only experience with podcasting was with Jimmy Pardo’s Never Not Funny, which is such a great, hilarious conversation between people. I kind of viewed that it was going to be advertising for the weekly show we did. If you listen to those early shows, it is very based around what is happening that week in the live show at UCB.
By my third episode, the radio station came to me and said, “Hey, you know we’re not really interested in you interviewing comedians, we’re interested in the comedians being funny.” They were looking for more of a comedy program. Once I started doing that, I think the show really started hitting its stride. We stopped talking about comedy — which a lot of podcasts do and are really good at — but started to actually do comedy. That’s when I started enjoying the show more and when I think the audience started enjoying the show more.
