Though the movie came out weeks ago, this very long essay says everything I wish I could have in my review, in a much more eloquent way. Adam Hamford, a junior television, radio, and film student in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, has nearly finished the planning process for the terrible student film he hopes to begin filming next week.
“I finished the script and casting today. My best friends, all of whom have never acted before, and this one kid who seemed pretty talented in my production class last year will attempt to give life to a script that has no definable story and little relatable, or believable, dialogue,” Hamford said. “I’m excited to get started on this piece of shit.”
Hamford’s film will tell the story of one student’s experience at a Frat party, which he says enormously trivializes the actual experiences of most college students.
“Man, all the scenes taking place during the party are going to be so dark that you can’t see anything because I have no knowledge of lighting a film. Then, I’ll use some catchy filmmaking techniques like a poorly edited montage and a totally unnecessary voice-over,” Hamford said.
“I can’t wait to show this abhorrent attempt at filmmaking to my friends and family so they can awkwardly tell me they think it’s good,” He added.
No one from Hamford’s video production class is excited to see the early versions of the film.
